Thursday Mens: Team Martin vs Team Donaldson

After practicing on Monday and eating limes last week, icky was confident going into the game. Ikey, however, loses the toss for the 3rd time this year. Spaghettic!

End 1: Without hammer, icky buries one with his first and then puts up a perfect guard. Barry didn't have much and we steal 1.

End 2: They get one somehow.

End 3: With an open house, icky draws around a corner guard with his first with great sweeping to get it around the guard. Barry slides his final rock by, leaving icky with the same draw for 2. Success.

End 4: Donaldson had 3 rocks lined up in the top of the house. Icky calls for a triple (not sure if the angles were there for a triple, but a double was certainly there). Icky turns the rock out and flashes by. Barry plays a guard with his first that is just in front of the house. Icky tries the same shot and gets two Donaldson stones to go. Barry has an open draw for 3 and makes it to take a 4-3 lead.

End 5: Facing 4 opposition stones, icky plays back line weight down to a Donaldson stone to take 1.

End 6: A rather open end. Icky hits a Donaldson rock biting the side of the sheet but rolls out. Barry throws it through.

End 7: We had a few rocks in the house at one point, but Barry's team made some nice shots. Icky jams with his final hit, leaving Barry a draw to bite the 4 foot for 2. He makes it to take a 6-4 lead going to the last end.

End 8: Iszy plays two good high corner guards. A nice draw around a corner guard by ix3y puts us in good position. We sat 1 at the back of the button guarded going to Barry's last stone. Barry tries to sit on top of ours but he slides by due to missed line and sits back 4. Icky musters up all his abilities to play another back line weight shot to sit in front of the Donaldson stone. He throws it well and we take 2 for a 6-6 tie.

What a great back and forth game where both teams played extremely well. This was my best game by far (I don't think I missed a draw and only missed a couple of hits). This was also the best game as a team, with good shooting from my guys. Unfortunately, we were up against a team which matched us shot for shot. The Men's standings look as follows:

We have no chance to move up to Div A and can actually move down to Div C. A win next week against McCoy would guarantee staying in B. Any other outcome and we'll need some help.

Forgot to check the Team Watson result, but iszy won on Tuesday to go 3-1. So after 3.5 weeks, we have the following:
