Martin vs Currie

The last time we played Theresa Currie was two years ago, where they completely slaughtered us. I believe I hung up tissue over their score placcards so people couldn't see how high they got to. They were the top Div B dropout and we faced them on sheet 2. And hai was mysteriously missing.

End 1: With hammer, Team Martin struggles with the takeouts but icky gets a chance to come down to quiet hit and stick for the 1 facing three opposition stones. His rock 8 hangs wide and we roll to far, giving up a steal of 1.

End 2: We continue to struggle with hits and icky again faces multiple Currie stones. Icky's draw ends up second shot and we escape down by two. Hai decides to walk in.

End 3: Team Martin puts a great end together. On his first, icky makes a fine quiet hit on shot rock that was fully buried behind a rock in the top 12-foot to sit 3. Currie comes down to it to sit shot, but leaves icky with a delicate takeout for the trey. Success!

End 4: Team Currie takes 1.

End 5: Again facing three on his last, icky attempts to draw wide to hit the full 8-foot for the one. The rock keeps sailing and we all thought it may have gone through, but it digs in just in time to sit second shot. Another steal of one leaves them up 4-3.

End 6: Team Martin plays well but icky had to make a great hit and roll on his first on shot rock that was tightly guarded and barely exposed. Fine sweeping made the shot and we end up with the deuce to go up by one.

End 7: We hold Currie to one as Theresa had to draw the 8-foot against two martin counters. The game is tied at 5 as we go to the final end with hammer.

End 8: In the last, we try to keep it as open as possible but there were a couple of guards in play. However, a couple of missed rocks by Team Currie leaves shang a chance to peel off the last guard. Theresa draws to the back 4 to sit two leaving icky a shot down to their rock for the single and the game. The shot is made and Team Martin takes it 6-5.
