As you know Wayne Linkletter owes icky a few favours and has a chance to repay him tonight. After hanging on in Div B (again), Team Chang looks to get off to a quick start in draw 3, although no fans tonight. Ikey wins the toss again.
End 1: Icky draws for one against two biters. Success.
End 2: Icky and Wayne trade missed takeouts on their last, resulting in a steal of 1 for Team Chang.
End 3: This end was the start of iszy and ix3y's not liking the skips call. I shrug them off in this end but we give up 3.
End 4: Icky slides out very very badly, tries to correct unsuccessfully, panics and doesn't even have time to say "oh shit", tries correcting again and says "oh fuck" instead, finally resigns to push the rock out, and lands it in the 4-foot for the deuce.
End 5: Team Chang steals 1.
End 6: Wayne could have blanked with a throw-through but they decide to take their 1 instead to trail by 1. This time, ix3y and iszy talks icky out of a peel on a guard and play a nose hit instead, they thinking that wayne would just hit the guard himself. Icky thought wayne would go around a guard which was why he preferred peel. This rare time the skip was right.
End 7: Icky defers again to his superstar front end on the final shot call, heavy draw to take 1 and a 2 point lead rather than a hit that would have given up 1 and tied with hammer playing the last. Nothing wrong with either call and icky should have made either call, but icky threw too much weight. Linkletter steals 2 to lead by 1.
End 8: We struggle to get rocks in play. Ikey's runbacks today were all thrown inside. The more ice icky gave, the more inside he was. Icky's first was an attempted runback but the worst possible result occurred. A perfect jam and the shooter rolled to a position eliminating any possible raises. Icky's last was through the port to move the Linkletter stone and stick around to take 1, but too much weight resulted in no curl. Team Chang struggles out of the gate in the new draw and fall to Wayne Linkletter again. No one on Team Chang came out with their A game today, although ix3y was close up till the 7th end. Icky played rather sloppy and probably deserved the loss.
