Team Martin vs Team Hooper

Our Friday game got rescheduled for today. Michy wins the toss with heads on sheet 6, where both sets of stones are defective.

End 1: With hammer, we go right after the Hoopers, putting rocks in the house. Their third comes up with a huge shot to sit second and third closest. Michy then duly makes a perfect double takeout, avoiding all jams. Creighton plays a nice quiet hit through a rather large port to sit shot. Icky comes through the same port to hit for 3.

End 2: After having one buried on the button and very very well guarded, icky attempts a double bump to sit 2 and makes it. Creighton throws wide and its a steal of 2.

End 3: Hooper gets 1 to trail 5-1.

End 4: This is the end I wanted to try to get an 8-ender. Things started well, with pat taping an opposition stone to the back of the house, then drawing to it. Then michy puts her 3 in the house, though long. All 6 in so far while they have 2 in as second and third shot. After my first shot, which was a well executed takeout on a Hooper stone, things look really good. We sit shot and second, they have third and 4th, and we have 5th through 9th. And there was an opportunity to do a split double takeout on Hooper stones to get the 8. However, Creighton makes a quiet takeout on one of our stones. Icky tries a double takeout for 5 but is wide. We take 2.

End 5: This end caused us some trouble. Creighton makes a great last shot to split his rock into the 8-foot for 4. We lead 7-5.

End 6: We take one and they call it quits. We win 8-5 and are now 1-0-1 in the playoff draw.
