Martin vs Varsity Men

The standings were tight going into the final game of the first draw. Aidan at 1-3 looks to be going down no matter what happens tonight, but the other dropper could be us, Marianchuk or Varsity. We however could control our own destiny sitting at 2-2. A tie would be enough. If we lost, there were a lot of bad combinations that would send us down due to losses against the lower ranked teams. If we lose, then we needed to hope for a Ritchie loss (playing elgie so odds are good) AND a Marianchuk loss to Chega (Chega is the second seed right now). In that situation, we would have a 3-way tie for the drop down spot, in which case we will win on ends (as long as we take 2 ends tonight) given the head to heads between Varsity, Marianchuk and us would be 1 win-1 loss each. Interestingly enough, we actually lead the pack in ends and points due to our solid wins and narrow losses.

With iggy out of action, zilkie was brought in at second, which bumped ix3y to third. The game never got off well with them stealing 3. We respond with 2, but they take 2 more. We start a comeback by taking 1, stealing 1 and 1 again to tie the game. We play to give them 1 in the 7th to come home with the hammer down one and only needing a tie. Unfortunately it didn't materialize and we drop the game. As it happened, Elgie lost as did Chega, and we were stuck in a 3 way tie at 2-3 and drop down to B with Ritchie.

On Friday, we were in a 4 way tie at 2-3, but we won the right games to stay in div B.
