Friday Mixed: Team Martin vs Team Cook

Team Martin was trying to snap a 4 game losing streak on Friday. In our first meeting against Team Cook, we lose the toss and proceed to give up singles in the first two ends. In end 3, with things looking slightly grim, icky makes a perfect hit on an opposition stone that was almost entirely buried to move our rock onto the button and shot for the single (see below).

Team Cook comes back with a deuce and then another single before icky is able to manufacture a deuce by first hitting and rolling behind cover for shot and then making a quiet takeout on Cook's final rock that he drew for shot. In the 7th, with Cook sitting a pile, icky once again makes a finesse hack weight hit and flop to sit covered. Cook's very thin in-off missed by a hair and we move within one. In the last, the trend of missed throws due to heaviness by the middle players continued. Icky was forced into a draw around a cook stone on the top 12. Excellent delivery and sweeping gets it completely buried on the 4 foot with applause from ix3y in the lounge. However, Cook responds with a runback of his own rock. Icky's attempted thin angle raise takeout misses, leaving cook the victory.
