Thursday Men's Curling:
Going into the final game of the draw at 3-1, a win or a tie would essentially assure us of moving up to Div B. Playing Team McCoy, icky flubs the coin toss. The entire game is a bit sketchy in my mind, but the first end was an opportunity for McCoy to blank with last rock, but a hit and stick leaves them with 1. Team Levis responds with 1 in end 2. We exchange 1s in ends 3 and 4 for a tie game at 2. In the 5th, Team Levis draws frist blood; McCoy hits and rolls out with last rock, resulting in a steal of one. In fact, it was iszy's first rock which ended up counting! Team McCoy respond with 1 in 6 to tie it at 3. In the 7th, iszy plays a great draw behind cover, but proceeds to remove his own stone by mistake on his second shot. At the end of it all, McCoy sat three in the 12 foot with ichy needing an easy raise for one. Great shot and we take the lead by one going to 8 without hammer. So it was an all out attempt to steal on our part and things worked out well early on. Some unsucessful peels by Team McCoy left us rocks in the house and guraded. Ichy decides to play a guard to guard against a draw or raise. Team McCoy, instead of going for a raise (the easier shot) to tie, decide on a tough double for 2. He makes good contact, but it jams, leaving Team Levis with 1 and a 5-3 win. This puts us on top of Div C at 4-1 (only loss was to Team cook) and moves us to Div B. Team McCoy, who sat at 3-1-1 beats out Team Moura on ends to move up as B6. Iszy showed some good curling compared to last week, and ikey was super solid today.
