Thursday Men's Curling:
Icky starts the game off with winning the coin toss. There were a few rocks in play in end one, and for icky's second vice stone, he did one of his trademark "oh shit" unbalanced slides out of the hack, but manages to compensate in the release to execute a perfect double takeout through a small port. Opposing skip Bob Reynolds plays control weight through the port to remove a icky's rock. Ichy was left with a cold draw on his last, which he fails to make to give up a steal of 1. Ichy has a draw in end 2 for 2, but this cold draw came up just short. Team Levis executes a good end 3, forcing Team Reynolds to take one. Team Reynolds steals 2 in the 4th to take a 4-1 lead. Team Martin storms back in the 5th, with ichy executing perfectly to take 3. Team Reynolds takes 1 in 6, but end 7 was another well played end for us, leading to another score of 3. Of note in the 7th was icky's first draw of the game. He hogs it and it made it only half way down the ice. Iszy thought icky was going to come to a full stop when sliding. With one end to go and up by 2 without hammer, ichy calls iszy for two throw throughs. The first was done perfectly, but the second was really light. Icky had to sweep it to make sure it went out. Then ikey missed a takeout and knocks a Reynolds stone into the house. Ikey barely makes a takeout with his second to remove one reynolds stone. Then icky flashes a taekout right by. Following in the steps of ikey, icky barely makes contact with his second attempt to get the takeout. Ichy's last rock was a hit and roll behind cover, executed perfectly. Team Reynolds is left with a raise takeout for 2 for a tie, but misses. Team Levis plays a great game to take it 8-5. It was icky's best overall game of the season if the misses in the 7th dn 8th are discounted.
Friday Mixed:
Without tricky, ichy played lead. Michy lost hammer. First end was incredible. after 13 stones, all 13 were in play within a 4 foot zone in front of the house. This truly was the great wall of china. Team Hooper manages a nice raise to bite the 8 foot to sit 1. Icky retorts with a triple raise (all the rocks were lined up nicely) to sit shot rock. Hooper plays another great raise, but could not out count Team Martin. We steal 1. We steal 1 in the 2nd and 3rd before Team Hooper is able to get 1 in the 4th. Team Martin then breaks it open with a 3. In fact, it was a easy draw for 4, but the ice was really heavy today and icky misses on weight. Team Hooper then takes 2 in the 6th but Team Martin closes it out in the 7th with 4. Icky, for the first time, on last rock, plays a Stoughton 360 slide for his final draw, because it could not do damage to the situation. It was too heavy, but Don (from Team Sawchuk) was impressed. Team Martin takes it 10-3.
