Friday Mixed: Martin vs Reynolds

Team Martin sans icky + chris filling in at skip pulled out a victory last week against Team Beamish. Today was a match up against Team Reynolds.

End 1: Team Martin won hammer but was in huge trouble. Reynolds had one rock buried from the start of the end and was not very accessible. Icky was starring at the following situation going into his first stone.

Icky attempts a double run-back double-takeout to sit shot rock. He had to skinny the guard because the first red rock being hit was 1/4 buried. He executes a prefect shot! Bob Reynolds hits and sticks to sit two on the 12 foot and even. Icky could cold draw for the single, but he had yet to throw a draw and no one had thrown on the out-turn side of the ice yet. Instead, he opts for a finesse hit and roll in for shot using control weight. Perfect weight and line results in an unlikely single.

End 2: Some good shooting leaves us with 2.

End 3: Bob's final draw sails through. We take 2 more for a 5-0 lead.

End 4: Reynolds had rocks in play but could not count them. Icky's fluky hit and roll onto the button on his first shot counts for the single steal.

End 5: Another steal of 1 with Bob's missed draw makes it 7-0. They call it quits.

So incredibly icky has two shutouts in a row. When has that every happened?

Didn't you used to have pictures of curling rocks instead of red and blue blotches?
