Some curling news (especially for Team Martin):

1. Team Martin wants chip back on the team!!!

2. I have received confirmation from the Sheridan Park Curling League that their open house will be on Friday Octpber 8 from 5-7 pm. At that time, they usually play some mini-games for practice and help new curlers get on their feet.

3. The UofT Curling Club is having some issues with their email list. The ice at EYCC is not being put in until October 22nd and the Open House should follow the week after. It looks like a late start to the curling season. Check their web site for updates (they promise there will be updates in the next couple of weeks) and email them to make sure you are on their list (if you didn't sign up during club's day).

Update:
I just received an informational email regarding the Curling Club...

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for coming out to club day and expressing your interest in the
University of Toronto Curling Club.

As we told many of you, there will be two University of Toronto Curling Club
meetings to provide you with more information about the curling club, the
varsity team, how to become a member, and to answer to any other questions
you might have.

The first meeting will be on Thursday, September 23rd, 2004 at 6:00pm.
The second meeting will be on Tuesday, September 28th, 2004 at 5:00pm.

Both meetings will be at BA 2165.
(BA - Bahen Centre for Information Technology – 40 St. George St.)

For any one who is interested, there will be a University of Toronto Curling
Club open house at the East York Curling Club on Saturday, October 23rd,
2004. This open house is a great occasion to try curling for your first time
and best of all it’s FREE. NO curling equipment is required. The only thing
we ask you to bring is a clean pair of shoes. (ie. not the ones you wore to
the club.)

After the open house, the University of Toronto Curling Club will be having
a pub night at one of the local pubs. Any one who is interested can attend
this event and meet some of the other club members.

More information about the open house and the pub night will be provided at
the Sept. 23rd and 28th University of Toronto Curling Club meetings.

The University of Toronto Curling Club will be hosting their annual Bonspiel
on November 13th, 2004. The bonspiel is a fun event each year that brings
out many curlers and non-curlers from the University. This is a great event
to bring out friends who have never curled before.

Finally, if there is anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the
University of Toronto Curling Club but cannot attend either of these
meetings, please e-mail the University of Toronto Curling Club at
uoftcurling@hotmail.com .

Thanks

Patrick Dzijacky
President
University of Toronto Curling Club
