Yesterday, we made up the game that was rescheduled due to OEC. Because Greg McCoy was sick last week, it worked out well for both teams.
The game started with chip winning the toss, again. She's been soooo on when calling heads and tails. Playing on sheet six, however, we were forced to play with the red rocks, which has smaller skip stones.
End 1:
A great start by the front end of team martin left us in great shape. With one rock in the 4-foot, icky needed to draw to the full 8-foot for a deuce. Good use of backing resulted in 2 points.
End 2:
This end shaped up very well for team mccoy. Sitting three, icky was left with a draw around a corner guard with last rock to sit in front of opposition stones. A lot of sweeping left us a little short and not completely buried, but still shot rock. Greg McCoy throws a very nice takeout, avoiding the jam to take 3 points.
End 3:
Team mccoy was poised to steal in this end with rocks buried in the 4-foot.

Icky decided to play a raise takeout, promoting rock 1 onto rock 4. The shot was executed impecably, leaving the promoted stone (rock 1) as shot rock in the 4-foot and the shooter guarding it in front of the house. Team Mccoy attempts a raise teakout of his own using rock 2, but is off line. This opens up a port for icky to play a quiet (hack weight) takeout of rock 5 for two. Unfortunately, icky miscalls the sweeping and we crash on the guard. The game is tied 3-3.
End 4:
Another stellar end played by team martin. Michy put up the perfect guards, tricky plays a nice takeout, and chip plays a gorgeous draw behind a centre guard and then a perfect guard to leave us buried with one on the button behind two guards. All icky had to do was play perfect guards as team mccoy attempted to peel, which he did, leaving mccoy withou much for last rock. Team martin steals 1 to lead again 4-3.
End 5:
This end also started to look ugly after a few missed takeouts. Team mccoy had 5 rocks in the house with team martin having none. Icky attempts a double takeout while holding the shooter, but a jam resulted and only one mccoy stone was removed. Holding the shooter, however, was pivotal as it made our rock 3nd shot. Not sure what happened with my last rock, but greg had a easy draw (tonnes of backing) for three. He makes it to take another 3 points for a 6-4 lead.
End 6:
Icky attempts to blank the end to retain hammer but could not roll out on his takeout. We are forced to take 1 point to close the gap to one.
End 7:
This happened to be the last end due to time restraints. The front end of team martin did a fantastic job in this end. Michy plays two fantastic centre guards and tricky was successful with his shots. Icky's first rock was a draw through a staggered port.

Icky had an inch too much ice, rubbing off rock 1 and ending up 3/4 buriedbehind the centre guards biting the 8-foot. Not sure what Greg did with his first rock, but icky decided to just tap up his first stone. This time, the line was fantastic and it is promoted to just bitting the 4-foot on the centre line. Greg tired to draw around rock 2 to catch the 4-foot for one and the win, but his rock just catches the guard. This left team martin with a steal of 3 (maybe 4) to take the game 8-6! This was a major upset against a consistent Div C team. This drops team mccoy to 2-2 and team martin at 3-1. This means we are either first or second in this draw, depending on how team leblanc did last friday. A win or a tie this friday will assure us of moving up (i think), and a loss may still move us up to Div C.
